"MAKING CRICKET BATS IS A JOB FOR A CRAFTSMAN AND ONE TO KEEP IN THE FAMILY..."
- Walter Warsop, 1946
Here at Warsop Cricket Coaching we have a long heritage linked to the game of cricket. We take our name from Warsop Stebbing, producers of the finest handmade bats, which are crafted in the UK from the finest cuts of locally supplied willow timber at East Hannignfield in the heart of Essex.
The Warsop family has been hand making cricket bats since 1870. This craft has been passed down through the generations and continues today. The Warsop history began with Benjamin Warsop who, with the help of his four sons Alfred, Arthur, Frank and Walter, moved from Nottingham to London to set up his Cricket Bat workshop in St Johns Wood.
In the 145 years since moving to London Warsop Stebbing have handcrafted bats for both UK and International customers including Slazenger, Wisden and Junior Army and Navy stores, Harrods and Rio Cricket & Athletic Association of Brazil. Today Warsop continues to hand craft bats for clubs, schools and individuals.
